Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I am a proud graduate of the Oak Grove School District attending Hayes Elementary, Sakamoto Elementary and Herman Intermediate School.

Today I am seeking to be elected as Board Trustee in Oak Grove School District.

I pledge to be a strong trustee and I will:

  • Advocate for teachers and other members of the Oak Grove School District who are making a difference.
  • Work collaboratively with the governance team in setting a vision for continuing innovation.
  • Work diligently through the challenges facing our Oak Grove School District.
  • Make the tough decisions with care.
  • Build alliances and attend community meetings to interface with neighborhood leaders.

As a lifelong, San Jose resident and native, I am interested in addressing educational issues that we face now and in the future. Education is vital in providing opportunities to allow us to become who we want to be. As stewards of our education system, there should be a FOCUS ON FUNDAMENTALS: Students, Teachers, Parents and Administrators.

We need to support school staff with all the resources available. We need to hold administrators responsible for the budget. Each and every budget dollar represents our students and their opportunities. With each dollar, we must focus on providing a safe learning environment and caring school climate that supports students, parents, teachers and administrators while ensuring educational and academic excellence.

My Vision for the District For 2020-2024

  • Supporting Teachers Inside and Outside of the Classroom
  • Supporting Technology Advancement for 21st Century Learning 
  • Ensuring Equitable Distribution of Resources & Opportunities across Oak Grove Schools
  • Creating a Cohesive Network of Support for Students
  • Providing Support and Training for Frontline Workers
  • Promoting Engagement of Parents and other Stakeholders  
  • Supporting Dual Bilingual Immersion Programs
